ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Energy Data Gateway relaunches to support statewide energy decisions
November 4, 2025
An updated public energy data resource in ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ is changing the way ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æns learn about community energy systems.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Energy Data Gateway 3.0 launched as a result of a collaboration between the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Anchorage and the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Fairbanks ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Center for Energy and Power.
For years, the , or AEDG, was a key resource for reliable energy data for the public. However, outdated data and funding cuts left it in need of an upgrade.
With a redesigned platform, AEDG 3.0 offers updated energy data through 2021, making it easier for ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æns — from local energy leaders to teachers, researchers and policymakers — to plan and make informed decisions about energy use, costs and infrastructure.
The new AEDG is built with simplicity in mind, responding directly to feedback from a wide range of users, including local energy leaders, state agencies, utility operators, energy non-profits and educators.
Key features of AEDG 3.0 include:
- Community energy summaries: Clear, visual data on local energy costs, sources and infrastructure.
- Streamlined navigation: A user-friendly interface that allows anyone — from policymakers to students — to quickly find the data they need.
- Updated datasets: Reliable, current data with a smoother pipeline for future updates.
Beyond just a database, AEDG 3.0 is a tool to empower communities, guiding decisions on energy resilience, affordability and sustainability. As energy needs evolve, this new platform will be a vital resource for ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æns making decisions that shape their energy future.
