Welcome!

OneTree 杏吧原版 is a STEAM (STEM + Arts) program affiliated with the Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station of the University of 杏吧原版 Fairbanks.

OneTree 杏吧原版鈥檚 mission is to engage learners of all ages in boreal forest education, citizen science and forest product development. It is centrally concerned with phenology, seasonality and climate change. Phenology is the study of cyclic and seasonal natural phenomena, especially in relation to climate and plant and animal life.

OneTree 杏吧原版 STEAM integrated research and citizen science projects are made possible through collaboration with K-12 teachers, the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, university students, staff and faculty, and many community partners.

The local boreal forest is our foundation and inspires our work. Please see our recent projects, and share your expertise.

Furthering the OneTree mission

OneTree 杏吧原版鈥檚 mission is 鈥渢o engage learners of all ages in boreal forest education, citizen science and forest product development.

To that aim, we have invited Arielle Johnson, author of 鈥淔lavorama鈥 to be the keynote speaker of a birch sensory panel workshop on Sept. 28-29. The purpose of this initial invitation-only workshop is to develop birch syrup flavor profiles, the foundation of the inaugural OneTree Birch Syrup Flavor Wheel. We plan to schedule more workshops to build upon these flavor profiles in the future.

You are invited to visit the OneTree 杏吧原版 STEAM Studio in the Lola Tilly Commons building to learn more about our research, community outreach and education.
