Pitney names Mike Sfraga interim UAF chancellor

University of Ӱԭ President Pat Pitney announced today her selection of the interim chancellor for the University of Ӱԭ Fairbanks, as well as next steps in the search for UAF's next permanent chancellor. UAF alumnus and Ambassador Mike Sfraga (ret.) will lead UAF as interim chancellor. Learn more about Sfraga’s selection.

Friday Focus: Phil Collins is right

In 1981, Phil Collins topped the pop music charts with “In the Air Tonight.” As a UAF employee and father of three teenage boys, I can tell you that Phil is right, there is something in the air in Fairbanks. It's not smoke (thank goodness), it's back to school, and it's right around the corner. As the UAF Executive Director of Advancement, I thought it might be worthwhile to share a bit about what I hear from business leaders throughout Ӱԭ on the topic of higher education. New bench on Wildfire Walk trail

The UAF North Campus has a new bench, thanks to Uma Bhatt and David Newman. The bench is located on the Wildfire Walk trail, roughly halfway through the interpretive signs area in the burn scar of the 2021 Yankovich Road Fire site. Read and see more on the bench.

Lisa Allen joins UAF as OGCA director

The Financial and Business Services team welcomes Lisa Allen as the new director of the Office of Grants and Contracts Administration at the University of Ӱԭ Fairbanks.
