Nina Hansen named attending veterinarian

After a nationwide search, UAF’s Dr. Cristina (Nina) Hansen has been appointed to the role of attending veterinarian. The AV is responsible for veterinary care and animal health, and plays an important role in compliance practices for animal research. Hansen will start this role on Sept. 7. Calling lost chickadees in far north poplars

"Chick chick whirrr, chick whirrr." Although it was a recorded birdsong that chattered through each of the poplar stands we entered, I still occasionally caught myself believing we were hearing the real thing -- the call of the gray-headed chickadee, last heard in ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ in 2018.
