Friday Focus: Blue vs. Gold powers record night for scholarship support

Last Saturday, Nanook Nation came together in dazzling fashion at the annual Blue & Gold Celebration, presented by Kinross ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ. What began as an elegant evening in the Wood Center turned into something extraordinary. The audience helped raise more than $315,000 for student scholarships, nearly doubling last year's total. Lisa Yancey to serve as interim chief of operations for provost’s office

Lisa Yancey has joined the Office of the Provost in the capacity of interim chief of operations for AY25/26, effective Sept. 7, 2025. This position will serve to enhance the capacity of the provost’s office to manage administrative and operational affairs. Learn more on what Yancey brings to the role.

Two UAF students awarded prestigious NSF fellowships

Two University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Fairbanks graduate students are among the 1,500 recipients of the 2025-2026 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships. Willa Johnson and Xochitl Muñoz will each receive three years of financial support, including a $37,000 annual stipend and funds to cover tuition and fees, in addition to professional development opportunities. UAF testing transition

Beginning this fall, UAF Testing Services will operate under a new structure. The eCampus Testing Center is now divided into two areas of responsibility: academic testing, managed through the Student Success Center, and professional and community testing, which remains with eCampus. UAF receives $21.25M grant to expand biomedical research

The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Fairbanks has received a five-year, $21.25 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to strengthen biomedical research and training across ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ. The grant renews the NIH Institutional Development Award known as the IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence, or INBRE. Learn more about the grant.
