NextGen Food and Climate Symposium set for Sept. 25, 27

The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Cooperative Extension Service will host a free public symposium on climate change and its effects on regional and global food security. Nancy Fresco, a climate change researcher at UAF's International Arctic Research Center, will lead the two-part symposium on Zoom. Sessions are set for Sept. 25 and will repeat on Sept. 27. UAF webinar examines climate change impacts on salmon

A warming climate is both harming and helping salmon in northern regions, according to a University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Fairbanks fisheries researcher. Peter Westley, principal investigator of the Salmonid Evolutionary Ecology and Conservation Lab, will discuss the variable role of warming on ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æâ€™s salmon in a free statewide webinar hosted by the UAF Cooperative Extension Service. Humans vs. Zombies logoHumans vs. Zombies

Center for Student Engagement will be kicking on Humans vs. Zombies on Sunday, Sept. 14, running through Saturday, Sept. 20. The event is a large-scale game of tag using Nerf blasters along with their orange bandanas to complete missions and battle all across campus in a zombie apocalypse setting. Join a session on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 1-2:30 p.m. in Gruening 503H to learn about a four-day, all-expenses-paid pre-law immersion program in Juneau, a collaboration between UAF, UAS, and UAA. Participants will observe legislative sessions, attend ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Supreme Court arguments, tour the state capitol, and meet with political leaders and the Chief Justice.
