Tuttle appointed director of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Native Language Center

College of Liberal Arts Dean Todd Sherman has appointed Siri Tuttle to be the director of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Native Language Center and head of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Native language program following the retirement of Larry Kaplan. Tuttle has been with the ANLC since 2003 and has taught a variety of courses in ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Native languages and linguistics. She works with Athabascan languages, especially Lower Tanana, Koyukon and Ahtna. She is the author of the Lower Tanana Dictionary and has documented Athabascan music and songs, working with the elders of Minto.
Tuttle is the outgoing director of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Native Language Archive. Those responsibilities will be taken over by Anna Berge, a professor of linguistics with the ANLC.
