UA Press releases first cookbook

The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Press has released the "Fresh ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Cookbook," written by
Rob Kinneen with photos by Ash Adams and Brian Adams.
ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Native chef Rob Kinneen wants to revolutionize how ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æns eat by combining
local ingredients and contemporary cooking. The "Fresh ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Cookbook" provides resources
for cooks who want to taste more flavors unique to the state. Kinneen describes the
culinary culture of the many regions and peoples of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ and argues for the importance
of a local food movement.
Kinneen was born in Petersburg, ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ. He is an ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ chef of Tlingit heritage who
has been working in restaurants since he was 15 years old. Rob attended the Culinary
Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, and has worked in Louisiana, North Carolina,
New York and Illinois. He is currently a chef and runs a catering company in Durham,
North Carolina.
