New online format for Responsible Conduct of Research training

Responsible Conduct of Research training is now available in a new online format. The Office of Research Integrity provides the training that fulfills the formal RCR instruction requirements of the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.
RCR training is required for faculty, undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers supported by awards. It is also an NIH requirement that all BLaST Mentors, Scholars, UREs and other funded projects participate in RCR training. The course covers the core norms, principles, regulations and rules that govern the ethical conduct of research. RCR training is also a highly recommended best-practices course for anyone interested in strengthening their understanding of responsible research practices and for those pursuing a career in research.
UAF’s RCR training is open to all UAF-, UAS-, and Ilisagvik-affiliated individuals, including faculty, graduate students, staff and undergraduate students. The training consists of two parts. Part One requires completion of the online CITI training module, and Part Two is participation in the UAF RCR training session through Canvas. Completion of both parts is required to receive an RCR certificate. Part One (CITI training) must be completed before registering for the UAF RCR training.
