Week’s events: Mary Ann Borchert, Foundation Health, Indigenous pedagogy, steel drums

University of �Ӱ�ԭ�� Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here’s what’s happening during the week of June 23-29:

• On Monday, June 23, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series will honor community volunteer Mary Ann Borchert. After her career as a teacher, researcher and administrator at UAF, Borchert helped launch Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Raven Landing Senior Community and Aging at Home Fairbanks. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
• On Tuesday, June 24, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Foundation Health Partners’ Stephen Heffington, chief medical director, and Kari Burrell, chief strategy officer, discussing “FHP’s Blueprint for Services.” The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Wednesday, June 25, the Discover �Ӱ�ԭ�� lecture series will feature Diane McEachern, head of UAF’s rural human services program, discussing “Indigenous Pedagogy: Relevance and Practice.” The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Thursday, June 26, the Music in the Garden concert series will showcase Cold Steel Drums at 6 p.m. and WT and the EffingTones at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
